Manila closed the regular season, dropping a pair of conference games last week with losses against Earle and Hoxie. The Bulldogs got 18 points from Roy Marshall en route to a 60-32 victory Tuesday night over the Lions. The Lions traveled to Hoxie Thursday night and came away with a 59-43 loss to the Mustangs.
Manila failed to get a player in double figures in the loss to Earle as Levi Wallace led the way with nine points. Senior point guard Kyle Evans chipped in seven, Tray Malone scored five, Cody Webb tallied four, Jared Burks and Tracey Reinhart contributed three points apiece while Nathan Bell added one point.
Kyle Evans pumped in 13 points against Hoxie to lead the Lions in scoring while J.J. Helton and Levi Wallace added nine and eight points respectively. Nathan Bell tallied five, Cody Webb scored four while Tracey Reinhart and Garrett Scott pitched in two points apiece.
In junior high action, Manila dropped a 68-47 decision to top seeded Earle in the semi-finals of the 3A-3 District Tournament at Rivercrest. Autry Allen led all scorers with 22 points for the Bulldogs. Gary Scott added 14 while Akico Knighten scored 11.
The Lions got a team high 18 points from Dillon Burrow while Dylan Bogle also hit double digits with 14. Zack Day scored seven while Garrett Baker and Blake Miller added four points apiece.
The Lady Lions cruised to a 60-27 victory over Hoxie Monday night at Manila. Kimberly Wise poured in 20 points while Rebekah White added 16 more to lead Manila to the win. Colleen Kemp scored eight, Kristen Painter and Tiffany Pentecost added six points apiece while Katie Donner and Maegan Presson finished with two points each.
