Colts Run past Lions 66-55
T.J. Gordon led three Rivercrest players in double figures as the Colts ran past Manila 66-55 Tuesday night at Wilson. Demoine Brown scored 12 while Terrence Banks dropped in 10 points and dished out 10 assists to lead the Colt attack.
Manila held an 18-16 lead after the first period but watched Rivercrest rally for a 36-32 halftime lead. The Colts carried a 53-45 advantage into the final quarter.
Garrett Scott scored 15 points and Levi Wallace added 11 to lead the Lions in scoring.
J.J. Helton and Nathan Bell tacked on nine points apiece, Kyle Evans tallied five while Tracey Reinhart and Tray Malone pitched in three points each.
In junior high play, Rivercrest slipped past Manila 47-44 behind the 24 point performance of Robert Cooney. The Colts led 16-7 after the first period but the Lions came from behind to take a 24-18 lead at the half. Manila led 33-29 heading into the final frame, but watched the Colts rally, outscoring the Lions 18-11 in the final period to pull out the win.
Dillon Burrow led Manila with 18 points while Garrett Baker and Dylan Bogle added nine points each. Blake Miller scored five while Zack Day pitched in three points. The Lions drilled six three pointers on the night, but faltered from the foul line, hitting just 10-21 attempts.
