Rebels roll past Marked Tree on Senior Night

Riverside rolled past Marked Tree 62-35 Thursday night at Lake City behind the double figure scoring of Tyler Warhurst and Cody O'Guinn. The two seniors scored 15 and 10 points respectively in the last home appearance of their careers.

Riverside jumped to an 18-3 first quarter lead and held a 33-14 halftime advantage. The Rebels led 41-24 heading into the fourth period.

Blake Hogan scored seven points, M.J. Brewer had six while Jake Emery and Josh Anderson added five points apiece. Cam Casey netted four points, Dewayne Schrader and Tyler Roland scored three points apiece while Luke Moyer and Sam Elam added two points each.

Colton Frazier led Marked Tree with 16 points.

The Rebels defeated Rector 65-53 Tuesday night at Lake City. Riverside placed three players in double figures, led by Blake Hogan who scored a game high 18 points. Tyler Warhurst and Cody O'Guinn added 16 and 15 points respectively. Josh Anderson tallied eight while Cam Casey and Dewayne Schrader pitched in four points apiece.

Rector also placed three players in double digits, lead by Blake McCarroll who had 16 points. Justin Duke netted 14, while Tyler Kirklin added 12 more. The two teams were tied 16-16 after the first quarter before Riverside bolted to a 31-19 lead at the half. The Rebels carried a 50-42 advantage into the fourth quarter.

In junior high action, Riverside dropped a heartbreaking 54-51 decision to Marked Tree in overtime on a last second three pointer. The Indians lead 13-10 after the first period. Riverside and Marked Tree battled to a 26-26 tie at the half and were still knotted up 38-38 heading into the final frame.

Thadius Moore led Marked Tree with 20 points, while Darius Ivy added 18.

Morgan Fletcher led Riverside with 15 points, while Mitchell Staggs added 11, including three treys. Cole Winford and Alteeno Sain added nine points apiece. Cody Williams tallied four while Logan Meurer added three more to round out the Rebel attack.

Morgan Fletcher pumped in 18 points while Cole Winford added 12 more in the Rebel's 43-34 victory Tuesday night over Rector. Logan Meurer had five, Alteeno Sain and Mitchell Staggs netted three points apiece, while Cody Williams added two for the Rebels, who hit 24 of 34 free throw attempts.

Brandon Stevens topped Rector with 19 points. The Cougars bolted to an 11-1 first quarter lead before Riverside rallied to take a 16-14 edge at the half. The Rebels took a slim 23-21 edge into the final frame.

Riverside will return to action Tuesday night as they travel to Manila to take on the Lions. The Rebels close out the regular season against Brookland Friday night on the road.
