James "Jonesie" Jones, 46, died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2009, at his residence. He was born Jan. 28, 1963, in Osceola. He worked at Basler Electric in Caraway.
Survivors include his mother, Rosetta Hightower of Caraway; two brothers, Johnny Northcutt and Virgil Ray Hightower, both of Caraway; two sisters, Janie Augustine of Manila and Shirley Scroggins of Jonesboro; three nephews, Timothy Augustine, William Hightower and Justin Augustine; and a niece, Elizabeth Scroggins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Hightower; grandfather, Robert William Milligan; grandmother, Nancy Milligan; three uncles and three aunts.
A celebration of his life was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Gregg Funeral Home Chapel at Monette with Rev. Rick Stevens officiating. Burial was in Monette Memorial Cemetery.
Honored to serve as active pallbearers were Jerry Wood, Jerry Bynum, Phillip Horton, Tim Augustine, Michael Cosbey and David Sheppard; and as honorary pallbearers, Glenn Boone, Luther Sheppard, John Huskisson, Donald Huskisson and Danny Wycoff.
