Riverside improved to 17-6 overall and 8-1 in 2A-3 conference play with three league wins last week in senior girls basketball action.
The Lady Rebels began the week with a 65-39 victory over Turrell behind seniors Katey Campbell and Kailey Holt who scored 18 and 15 points respectively. Brianna Driver tallied six points, Michelle Cobb netted five, Christy Ward and Alyssia Thibodeaux added 4 points apiece, while Kyley Campbell contributed three. Morgan Emery, Holly Dudley, Anne Marie Johnson, Taylor Boness and Kendra Staggs all added two points apiece.
Riverside also captured the junior high game with a 47-32 win. Becca Frayer led the Lady Rebels with 19 points while Lauren Weaver netted 14. Kenzley Wilson scored six, Lindsey Bennett tallied four, Anna Brickell contributed three while Teylor Hill added one point.
Riverside defeated Marmaduke 61-48 Thursday night at Lake City. Morgan Emery recorded a double-double, scoring 18 points while pulling down 10 rebounds. Emery just missed a triple-double, finishing with eight steals. The senior guard also dished out five assists. Katey Campbell scored 12 points while Brianna Driver added 11 more to help the Rebel cause. Michelle Cobb chipped in eight, Kailey Holt scored five, Holly Dudley had three while Anne Marie Johnson and Christy Ward netted two points apiece. Meagan Nolen paced Marmaduke with 24 points.
In junior high play, Marmaduke came away with a 40-32 win. Lauren Weaver paced Riverside with 15 points while Becca Frayer added 12. Emilee Manues scored three while Anna Brickell added two.
The Lady Rebels traveled to Marmaduke Saturday night and came home with sole possession of first place in the 2A-3 conference with a resounding 71-52 victory over the Lady Greyhounds. Riverside leads the league with an 8-1 mark, a half game ahead of second place East Poinsett County, who holds an 8-2 record.
Kailey Holt led Riverside with 20 points, Katey Campbell recorded a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Brianna Driver added 18 more.
Riverside won the junior high contest 52-27 behind Lauren Weaver's 22 point performance.
The Lady Rebels return to the hard court against Marked Tree on Monday night at Caraway before hosting EPC in a first place showdown Thursday night at Caraway.
