Riverside rolled to a 60-25 victory over Ridgefield Christian Tuesday night in high school basketball action at Caraway before dropping a 47-44 heartbreaker to Bay Friday night at Lake City.

Riverside placed 10 players in the scoring column, led by Jake Love, who pumped in 15 points in the Rebel's victory over Ridgefield Christian. Cody O'Guinn scored nine, Tyler Warhurst netted eight, Josh Anderson pitched in six, while Blake Hogan and Cameron Casey tallied five points each. Tyler Rolland and Sam Elam had four points apiece, Jake Emery scored three, while M.J. Brewer added one to round out the Rebel scoring attack.

Riverside hit 6-10 foul shots and banged home 10 treys on the night, including four by Love. The Rebels took a 14-7 lead after the first period and stretched the margin to 34-14 by halftime.

Matt Pierce paced Ridgefield with seven. The Eagles made 8-20 free throws and hit one three pointer.

Bay rallied in the fourth quarter to overtake the Rebels in Friday night's non-conference tilt. Troy Brown led the Yellowjackets with 15 points while Wade Hamilton scored seven of his 10 points in the final quarter to lead the Bay comeback.

Riverside drained a three pointer with just three seconds remaining to pull within one, but the Rebels were assessed a technical foul after calling a timeout they didn't have. Hamilton sank both free throws to set the final score.

Tyler Warhurst drained six three pointers en rout to a game high 21 points to lead Riverside.

In junior high action, Cole Winford pulled off a double-double, scoring 16 points while snaring 15 rebounds to lead the 12-1 Rebels to a 48-47 nail-biter over Bay. Tristen Shelly pumped in a game high 21 to lead the Junior Jackets.

Riverside defeated Ridgefield Christian 40-27 in Tuesday night's game at Caraway.

Mitchell Staggs led the Rebels with 16 points. Dylan Wright and Coby Blagg scored six points apiece while Steven Stice netted four. James Boness tallied three, Braden Peaster pitched in two, while Michael George added one point for Riverside, who hit 11-21 free throws and made three treys on the night.

The Junior Rebels began the week with a 53-24 victory over Trumann in the Bay Invitational Tournament.

Morgan Fletcher pumped in 18 points while Cole Winford poured in 14 more to lead Riverside. Logan Meurer scored six, Braden Peaster tallied four, while Mitchell Staggs and Chase Jackson contributed three points apiece. Juan Trujillo added two points while Alteeno Sain tacked on one point to round out the Riverside attack.

In the battle of unbeatens, Riverside suffered their first loss of the year, dropping a

53-43 decision to undefeated Buffalo Island Central in Wednesday night's semi-finals of the Bay Invitational Tournament.

Cole Winford led Riverside with 19 points while Morgan Fletcher also hit double digits, scoring 12 points. Logan Meurer pitched in eight while Alteeno Sain and Cody Williams added two points apiece. Riverside hit 17-23 free throws and drilled four three pointers, while BIC nailed 16-18 from the foul line and pitched in three treys.

The Rebels and Mustangs will tangle again Tuesday night when the old rivals match up at Caraway in 2A-3 conference action.
