Buffalo Island Central dropped a pair of senior high basketball games last week, losing Monday night 75-56 to Gosnell before dropping a 71-39 decision at Armorel on Thursday night.

Gosnell placed three players in double digits, led by Candace Miller's 21 points. Brooke Godsey and Eureka Sing added 19 points apiece for the Lady Pirates, who sank 24-32 foul shots and made five treys on the night.

Jordan Miller pumped in a game high 23 points to lead BIC, while Corie Flannigan and Jenna Pike added 11 and 10 points respectively. Holly Dempsey and Jenny Walker netted four points apiece while Ashley Jines and Taylor Owens pitched in two points each.

BIC trailed 18-12 after the first quarter before falling behind 38-17 by halftime. Gosnell took a 53-40 lead into the final frame.

Katelyn Brown lit up the scoreboard with 37 points in Armorel's victory over BIC. The Lady Mustangs held a 22-18 lead after the first period, but the Lady Tigers rallied to take a 40-28 lead at the half. Armorel stretched their advantage to 62-36 by the end of the third period.

Jenna Pike led BIC with 13 points while Jordan Miller added 11 more. Shelby Qualls scored four, Jamie Harris and Kaylee James netted three points apiece while Holly Dempsey and Corie Flannigan netted two points each.

In junior high action, BIC completed a busy week by capturing the Bay Invitational Tournament championship Saturday night with a hard fought 38-30 victory over Riverside. Brittany Fowler scored 10 points as the Lady Mustangs remained unbeaten at 13-0 on the season.

The Lady Mustangs began their 5-0 week with a 47-29 victory over Gosnell Monday night. BIC used an 18-2 fourth quarter spurt to put the game away, after leading by just 29-27 after three periods.

Brittany Fowler led the Lady Mustangs with a game high 18 points. Demi Hargrove scored eight, Hayley Parker netted seven, Cassidy Qualls tallied five, Kaylee Greathouse contributed four while Jacey Sneed and Brittany Stockton added two points apiece. Katelyn Sparkman tacked on one point for BIC.

BIC opened the Bay Invitational Tournament with a 44-26 win Tuesday night over Manila. Jacey Sneed topped the Lady Mustangs in scoring with 10 points, while Demi Hargrove, Brittany Fowler, Kaylee Greathouse and Brittany Stockton all added six points apiece. Katelyn Sparkman and Cassidy Qualls pitched in four points each while Amber Rolland added two.

BIC jumped to a 12-1 lead after the first period and took a 26-10 advantage into the dressing room at the half. The Lady Mustangs held a 38-18 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

In Wednesday's semi-final game, BIC got past Marmaduke 47-35. Demi Hargrove and Brittany Fowler led the Lady Mustangs with 12 and 10 points respectively. Cassidy Qualls tallied nine, Kaylee Greathouse scored seven, Jacey Sneed contributed five while Hayley Parker added four.

The Lady Mustangs raced past Armorel 41-31 Thursday night behind Cassidy Qualls and Brittany Fowler, who scored 15 and 14 points respectively. Demi Hargrove, Hayley Parker and Kaylee Greathouse all added four points apiece.

The Lady Mustangs will play host to Riverside Monday night at Monette.
