Thanks to the kindness and generosity of Barnhart Cranes, Inc. of Memphis and the special help of William (Bill) Hill, director of Barnhart Operations at Nucor Hickman-Blytheville, the New Providence Baptist Church at Buckeye was able to see a new 25' steeple set on top of the church.

The church, which is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year as an organized church, has never had a steeple.

Last year the church had two big barbecues. Gary Hill was instrumental in helping cook all the Boston butts and with the help of everyone in purchasing them, the church raised the money to purchase the steeple.

Others who made the dream become a reality were Casey Hill, technical help; Dan Bush, crane operator; Jackie Hill, traffic control; and Oneal Church Furnishings, who supplied the steeple and secured it to the church.

New Providence Baptist Church pastor Danny Smith said, "Most of all we want to thank our Saviour, Jesus Christ, because if it wasn't for him, all would be in vain. Thanks to all who made this dream come true."
