Delma Beulah Garrison, 88, died surrounded by her family, Monday, Aug. 4, 2008. She was born in Monette on Sept. 18, 1919. She attended Higher Ground Ministries and Flint Baptist Temple. She was a member of the MEA, NEA, Retired Teachers Association, CWA, WOW Club, Senior of Flint Baptist Temple and Friends in Christ. She was past president of the General Baptist Missionary Society and a Volunteer with Genesee Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Mrs. Garrison was a teacher for two years in Arkansas before teaching in the Westwood Heights School District for 25 years, retiring in 1984.

Surviving are four children, Donna Jones and husband Darwin of Linton, Ind., Margaret Bauman and husband John, Keith Garrison and wife Debbie all of Flint and Bruce Garrison and wife Kellie of Swartz Creek; sister, Ethel Lindsey of Ft. Worth, Texas; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Charlie" Garrison in 1976; her parents, Levi and Elsie Gauf; sisters, Hattie England, Velma Chrisman, Eva Crittenton, Maggie Conkin and Evelyn Laird; brothers, Pearl Richardson and Sammy Richardson.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 11, at the Monette Memorial Cemetery with William Laird officiating. Burial is under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.
