Roy Baker, 76, of Lake City died Sunday, June 22, 2008, at Lakeside Nursing Center. He had lived in Lake City for the past 17 years, moving there from Jonesboro. He was a member of Lake City Assembly of God Church and the American Bluegrass Association. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Korean War, and a Craighead County deputy sheriff for 27 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons and a sister.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Rachel Baker of the home; two daughters, Debra Olive of Lake City, and Sandra Wheeley and husband, Buddy, of Jonesboro; three brothers; seven sisters; one granddaughter; and three grandsons.
