The Lake City Council met June 16 in short session, with several Fire Department changes and plans for future training.
The council approved a six-month leave of absence from the Fire Department for Debbie Davis. They also approved her resignation as fire marshal. Norman Edison will serve as fire marshal effective June 16.
Jason Cottingham reported on the Fire Department future training classes. CPR Class, First Responder Course, and Extrication Class will be a part of the upcoming training. Dates and times of classes will be announced later.
Justin Manis and Dalton Watson were approved as new Lake City firemen.
The council accepted the bid from Cavenaugh Ford of $21,430 for a new fire service truck, with a 90-day delivery date.
The council approved the second reading of Ordinance No. 231-08 to amend Ordinance No. 57.
The first reading of Ordinance No. 232-08 was passed. The new ordinance allows for the closing of Bush Street in order to install an above ground pumping station.
The next regularly scheduled council meeting will be 6:30 p.m. July 21 at city hall.
