Casey Wells earns Doctor of Optometry Degree
MEMPHIS -- Casey Austin Wells, O.D., of Manila, was among 119 students recently awarded the Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern College of Optometry (SCO) in Memphis.
Dr. Wells was honored with the college's Outstanding Clinician Award and the Vistakon/American Optometric Foundation Vistakon Award of Excellence in Contact Lens Patient Care for his academic achievements and clinical excellence.
A graduate of Arkansas State University in Jonesboro and a 1991 graduate of Manila High School, Dr. Wells is the son of Gary and Ann Wells.
Optometrists are independent, primary health care providers who specialize in the examination, diagnosis, treatment and management of diseases/disorders of the visual system, the eye and associated structures, as well as the diagnosis of related systemic conditions.
Southern College of Optometry was established in Memphis in 1932. SCO is an independent, not-for-profit institution of higher education with a mission to educate men and women in the art and science of optometry.
