Howard Eugene Coursey, 69, of Monette, died Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at his residence. He was born Feb. 18, 1939 in Egypt, Ark., to the late Lawrence and Mable Coursey. He had just moved to Monette from Eatonton, Ga., where he had lived for the past eight years. He had lived in St. Louis for 15 years where he was a cabinet maker and a member of the local carpenters union. He was a member of the Cedar View General Baptist Church in Granite City, Ill.

Survivors include two sons, Douglas Eugene Coursey of Kansas City, Mo., and Ricky Coursey and wife Sandy of Mountain Home; three brothers, Richard Coursey of Trumann, Dale Coursey of Black Oak and Farron Coursey of New Orleans; a sister, Pat Garcia of Monette; four grandchildren, Corissa Dollahite, Felicity Coursey, Jeff Coursey, Halle Mae Coursey, and two great-grandchildren, Jonathan Dollahite and Cheyenne Coursey.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Linda Coursey and a brother, Frank Coursey.

A private family service was held under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home in Monette.
