Donald Master was honored Friday with a retirement luncheon at Southworth, Inc. in Manila. Master has worked at Southworth for 26 years starting in 1981.

He has been part of four expansions and has seen a lot of growth in the company at Manila.

There were only seven employees at the original Manila site when Master started as a welder. Today the company has three locations, two in Manila and one in Leachville, and 155 employees in Arkansas. Master has worked as a welder, supervisor and manufacturing engineer.

"These guys are great to work with," Master said. "Southworth has been good for the community. The company cares for its employees. It has been like family to me."

Guests at the luncheon were Master's wife, Vicki, and daughters, Sarah and Katie.

He received a gift certificate to Bass Pro Shop and a gift from the employees.

Master said he plans to spend more time with the family and work more in the church.
