Evelyn Markin

Evelyn Markin, 81, of Monette died Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro. She was a lifetime resident of Monette and a member of the Monette Assembly of God Church. She worked many years in churches alongside her husband, the late Rev. Junior Markin.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Mary Kennedy, her sister, Norma Ball, and a grandson, Shane Littlefield.

She is survived by three daughters and their husbands, Janiece and Melvin Robbins, Marla and Terry Lewis, all of Jonesboro, and Pam and Jacky Littlefield of Bentonville; two sons, Steve Markin of Bentonville and Bobby Markin and wife Linda of Paragould; four grandchildren, Tammy Brown and husband Scott of Jonesboro, Chad Robbins and wife Nancy of Lake City, Wendi Park and husband Rod of Bentonville and Whitney Lewis of Leachville; 11 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

A celebration of her life was held at 10 a.m. May 9 at the Gregg Funeral Home Chapel in Monette with Rev. Terry Miller officiating. Burial was in Linwood Cemetery in Paragould.

Honored to serve as pallbearers were Joey Barnes, Lynn Barnes, Ralph Hunter, T.J. Miller, Mark Prince and Bryan Pruitt and as honorary pallbearers, the Ladies Sunday School Class of Monette Assembly of God Church.
