Helen Marie Benson Simmons, 84, of Pensacola, Fla., formerly of Manila, died Saturday, May 10, 2008, in Pensacola. Born at Black Oak, she was the daughter of the late James Edward and Aida Barnes Mangrum and lived most of her life in Manila.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Lockard Benson and Edgar Simmons, a daughter, Peggy Malone, and grandson, Lockard Alan Parker.
She is survived by a son, John Benson of Springdale; a daughter, Linda Mimms of Pensacola, Fla.; a brother, Burel Mangrum of Durango, Colo.; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 17, at Manila Cemetery under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Manila.
The family will receive visitors Saturday from noon until service time at Howard Funeral Chapel in Manila.
