Cardwell

William Clay "Bill" Clark, Jr., 87, of Cardwell, died Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould. Born in Cardwell, he was the son of he late William Clay and Vera Ellen Lockard Clark and had been a Cardwell resident most of his life. He was a graduate of Cardwell High School and received a Masters of Science in Education from Arkansas State University in 1961. He later received an Advanced Masters Degree in Education from the University of Tennessee. He was a retired school teacher and administrator serving several school districts over the years. He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, a Navy veteran of World War II, and a member of the Cardwell Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Letta Jo Bogle Clark, in 2001 and two sons, Bobby and Billy Clark.

He is survived by two sons, John Paul Clark, and his wife, Rhonda, of Cardwell, and Mike Clark of Valley Park, Mo.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Martha and Gary Blankenship of Paragould and Suzanne and Jimmy Bushong, also of Paragould; a daughter-in-law, Anna Clark of Monette; a sister, Geraldine Shepherd of Sterling, Vir.; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He also leaves his extended family, Larry and Jeannie Clark, Glenna Huckabee and Emie Walker.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Rev. David Powell, Rev. Zach Roberts, and Randy Blankenship officiating. Burial followed in the Cardwell Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Mike Clark, John Paul Clark, David Lynn Clark, Jimmy Bushong, Gary Blankenship, Larry Clark, Logan Bushong, and Ernie Walker.
