A special quilt in memory of longtime Caraway residents, George and Lillian Emery, will be given away at the annual Caraway Fourth of July celebration.

The quilt, made by Mrs. Emery's sisters, Wilma Taylor and Betty Upchurch of California, is a King Size Lone Star Log Cabin pattern. The material is reproduction of 1930 fabrics.

The quilt was given to the Caraway Senior Citizens Center and there will be a drawing for the quilt on the Fourth of July.

Tickets can be purchased at the Caraway Senior Center or from any member of the Caraway Senior Center.

"It is a beautiful quilt and a nice tribute to Mr. and Mrs. Emery and their family," Cleffie Gipson, site manager, said.

The proceeds from the quilt will be used for the Miles for Meals program.

The Caraway Senior Citizens site is open five days a week from 8 a.m. to 2-3:30 p.m. Lunch is served daily at 11:20 a.m.

"We invite people to come and join us at the center," Gipson said. "We welcome new people."
