Leachville

Lina June Paul Wildy, 90, of Leachville died Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at her home. She was born to Robbie Dowell and Floyd Paul at Fayetteville on June 5, 1917. June and her late husband, Earl Herman Wildy, celebrated 65 years together until his death in 2004. June and Earl Wildy married in Fayetteville and moved to Etowah in 1938 beginning a lifelong connection with the land. They moved to Buffalo Ditch, west of Manila in 1940. The Earl Wildy Family was selected Master Farm Family of the year in 1956, becoming the second generation Wildy to receive the honor. Mrs. Wildy attended the University of Arkansas where she was a member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority. She was a Charter Member of the AC Chapter PEO Sisterhood and belonged to the Mid-South Embroiders Guild where she plied her exceptional needlework skills. She was a longtime member of the First Lutheran Church in Blytheville.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Paul Earl Wildy and his wife, Rita, of Leachville, and David Dowell Wildy and his wife, Patty, of Manila; a daughter and son-in-law, Lina Marie Wildy Johnson and her husband, Larry, of Jonesboro. Grandchildren include Jill Wildy Sanders, Greg Johnson, Marshall Wildy, Justin Wildy, Doug Johnson, Hayley Wildy, Bethany Wildy and Tab Wildy. Great-grandchildren are Jacob Sanders, Evan Sanders, Blaire Wildy, Blaine Wildy, Sydney Wildy and Kathryn Wildy.

The family wishes to thank June's caregivers, Melba Hawkins, Tina Davis, Laura Tucker, Ann Ballard, Kathleen Bard, Lois Ward, Patty Brown, Mary Breedon, Trisha Young, Debra Ladd, and Sheryl Clark.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First Lutheran Church in Blytheville with Rev. Dennis FitzPatrick officiating. Burial was in the Leachville Cemetery under the direction of Howard Funeral Service. Grandsons served as pallbearers.
