Mildred Beatrice Elizabeth Hughes, 88, of Dell, died Thursday, March 6, 2008, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born May 24, 1919, in Alcorn County, Miss., to the late James Hubert and Carsilla Badine Jones, she was a longtime Dell resident and homemaker of the Pentecostal faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, W.C. Hughes, and her grandson, Michael Hughes.

She is survived by two sons, Jerry Hughes of Magness and Terry Hughes and his wife, Schery, of St. Joseph, Mo.; two daughters, Sharon Oliver and her husband, Wil, of Branden, Fla., and Phyllis Myers and her husband, Tim, of Blytheville; and seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Cobb Funeral Home in Blytheville with a private internment following.
