BIC principal announces retirement plans

Following an executive session on Monday night, Buffalo Island Central School Board members voted to accept the resignation of Homer Craig, high school principal, effective June 30. Mr. Craig is retiring after 18 years with the district and 36 years in education.

Board members then voted unanimously to reassign Randy Rose from junior high principal to high school principal and solicit applicants for the junior high principal position.

Mr. Rose has been with the district for 14 years.

Dr. Kima Stewart presented current cheerleading rules and regulations and proposed changes to tryout rules, squad types and composition of squads. After discussion, the board was in agreement to support the changes as presented. Final rules and regulations will be adopted at the March meeting.

Administrative reports concerning the school lunch program, bus garage replacement, and other facility issues were presented.
