Faith Funeral Service of Manila has recently been remodeled and expanded to offer a visitation parlor. The 450 square foot area will accommodate most typical visitations.

Stephan Keating, co-owner of Faith Funeral Service, said the visitation parlor was added to give customers the option of having visitation services on the premises.

"We can provide all goods and services any other funeral service can with the exception of an on-site chapel," Keating said.

Faith Funeral Service operates under a different business model than other funeral homes. Instead of serving a 15-20 mile area, it serves a 50-75 mile area.

"We are able to do that because we go to the communities," Keating said. We offer services at cemeteries or churches. Many people prefer the comfortable environment available only in their own home churches. Familiar surroundings can provide a spiritual and emotional advantage to the family. Our goal is to do our best to meet the wishes of the families."

The new visitation parlor can also be used for a small service if the family wants it.

Keating encourages his customers to shop around when they are considering pre-arranged funerals.

"We get a lot of feedback and people have told us they found our prices 30-50 percent lower in a lot of cases," Keating said. "We try to keep our overhead down and pass the savings on to our customers."

Faith Funeral Service has been in Manila for two years, and Keating is licensed as a funeral director in Missouri and Arkansas.

In addition to being a licensed funeral director and embalmer in Arkansas and Missouri for over 20 years, Keating has served as chief deputy coroner for eight years in Mississippi County. He also serves as judge for Pemiscot County and serves as District 3 Director of the Missouri Municipal and Associate Circuit Judges Association. His duties in representing District 3 consist of 20 Missouri counties with 85 cities with courts. He is municipal judge for the cities of Steele, Cooter, Hayti Heights and Wardell.
