Lake City

Arley "Jack" Davis, 78, of Lake City died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2007, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. He was the pastor of Mount Olive Free Pentecostal Church in Needham and was retired from the Craighead County Road Department and Singer Manufacturing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Agnes Bickford Davis; a daughter, Carol Jeanette Davis; two brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Davis of the home; a son, Larry Davis of Lake City; daughters, Betty Gail Smith of Lake City and Pam Mote of Jonesboro; two nephews they raised, Ricky Johnson of Rector and Donnie Johnson of Paragould; brothers, Ira and Carl Davis of Paragould; and 11 grandchildren.

The funeral was held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Heath Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Doyle Householder and Rev. Brian Monehan officiating. Burial was in Pine Log Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Nathan and Matt Davis, Wendell Kersey, Barry Crow, Bobby and Ken Box.

Honorary pallbearers included Nicholas and Charlie Davis, Jackie and Sylvia Smith, Kelly and Daniel Mote, Kacey, Laura and Joshua Johnson and George and Felicia Conway.

Memorials may be sent to the Gideons of Paragould and Jonesboro.
