Christmas Opossum sign of good luck

This timid opossum hung on for dear life as fireworks were displayed during the holidays at the Snider home. A friend said, "Christmas opossums are a sign of good luck in Mississippi. It means you have fresh meat for New Year's luncheon - opossum with sweet potato stuffing, hawg jowl, turnip greens and, of course, black-eyed peas."(Town Crier photo/Nan/Snider)
