Rebekah White poured in 25 points and Kimberly Wise added 21 more as the Manila Lady Lions scalped Piggott 79-65 Thursday night at Manila. Manila also received 18 points from Colleen Kemp to help the Lady Lions and head coach Jeff Priest defeat his former team.

Manila held a slim 20-19 first period advantage but outscored the Lady Mohawks 24-15 in the second quarter to take a 10 point lead into the dressing room at the half. Piggott managed to slice Manila's lead to eight, 59-51, entering the final frame, but the Lady Lions held on to post a key 3A-3 conference victory.

Kelce Misner scored eight points, Michelle Daniel netted four, while Kristen Painter added three to round out the Manila scoring.

Manila finished the night 23-35 from the foul line and nailed five three pointers, including four from Kemp.

Piggott placed four players in double figures, led by Jordan Engle who scored 16 points. Michelle Greaney chipped in 15 points while Hillary French and Kenna Dennis added 11 and 10 points respectively. The Lady Mohawks hit 8-9 foul shots and drilled five treys on the night, including three by French.

Manila played host to East Poinsett County Monday night but fell victim to the Lady Warriors, dropping a 63-52 decision.

Manila (10-9, 3-4) was led in scoring by Daniel who finished with 17 points. Kimberly Wise tallied 14 points.

Jordan Madden led all scorers with 27 points while Becca Ross and Katelyn Armstrong added 10 points apiece.

In junior high action, Manila pulled out a thrilling 35-34 victory over Piggott.

Peyton Joyner and Shelby Wallace paced the Lady Lions with nine points apiece. Brittany Craine tallied seven points, Jordan Robertson netted four, Courtney Craine tallied two while Taylor Craig pitched in one point.

Chelsea Covarrubia led Piggott with 18 points.

East Poinsett County defeated Manila 41-18.

The Senior Lady Lions will return to the court Saturday at noon when they face Brinkley in the first round of the Northeast Arkansas Invitational Tournament in Jonesboro.

The Junior Lady Lions will participate in the Raider Classic at Nettleton. Manila will open play Thursday night with a 6:30 tip off against Marion.
