Manila dropped a pair of conference games last week, losing 65-56 Monday night to Corning and 63-52 Thursday night at Hoxie.
Chelsea Carpenter scored 20 points while Whitney Groning added 18 more to lead Corning past Manila. Sophomore Kimberly Wise led the Lions with 18 points while Colleen Kemp scored 12 and Rebekkah White added a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Corning led 21-16 after the first period, 36-29 at the half and took a 47-41 lead into the final frame.
Michelle Daniel scored a game high 25 points in Thursday night's loss to Hoxie. Daniel finished the night 15-17 from the foul line. Kimberly Wise also notched double digits, scoring 10 points. Kelce Misner tallied six points, Rebekkah White netted five, Colleen Kemp added four while Kristen Painter finished with two.
The Lady Lions hit 20-28 free throws and nailed four three pointers.
Jessica Barber led Hoxie with 21 points while Brooke French and Megan Black added 13 and 12 points respectively. The Lady Mustangs finished 17-26 from the foul line and hit six three pointers on the night.
Hoxie led 16-12 after the first period, 39-23 at the half and took a 56-41 advantage into the final quarter.
In junior high action, Manila dropped a pair of games, losing 38-9 to Hoxie and 52-6 to Corning.
Peyton Joyner led Manila with four points in the Lady Lion's loss to Hoxie. Shelby Wallace and Morgan Earnest scored two points apiece while Taylor Piercy added one.
Amy Galbreath led Hoxie with 10 points.
Manila will return to action Monday night when they play host to East Poinsett County in a 3A-3 conference battle. The Lady Lions will take on Piggott in another conference tilt Thursday night at Manila.
