Manila slipped by Gosnell with a thrilling 52-51 overtime victory Monday night in the Lady Lion's conference opener at Gosnell.

Kimberly Wise scored 18 points while Rebekah White chipped in 10 more to lead the Lady Lions, who rallied from a seven point third quarter deficit to take the game into overtime. Manila outscored Gosnell 6-5 in the extra period to gain the win.

Manila jumped on Gosnell early, taking a 15-6 lead after the first period, but the Lady Pirates rallied and closed the gap to 19-18 by the half. Gosnell outscored Manila 13-5 in the third quarter to pull ahead 31-24 before the Lady Lions rallied to tie the game 46-46 at the end of regulation.

Colleen Kemp pitched in nine points, Michelle Daniel scored seven, Kristen Painter netted four, Kelce Misner tallied three while Savannah Jones chipped in two to round out the Lady Lion attack. Manila shot 50 percent from the foul line, going 13-26.

Gosnell was led by Candace Miller who scored 13 points while Brittaney Spicer added 11 more. The Lady Pirates shot 10-16 from the free throw line.

Manila traveled to Marmaduke Thursday night, but saw their furious fourth quarter rally fall short as the Lady Greyhounds held on to post a 49-45 victory in 3A-3 conference play.

Marmaduke led 12-9 after the first period and built their lead to 26-17 by the half. The Lady 'Hounds took a 39-25 lead into the fourth quarter. Manila outscored Marmaduke 20-10 in the final period but came up four points short.

Kimberly Wise scored 15 points while Michelle Daniel added 14 more to pace Manila. Rebekah White had eight, Colleen Kemp and Kelce Misner scored three points apiece while Heather Dozhier added two. Manila went 10-16 from the foul line but hit only

16-50 from the field, including a miserable 1-11 performance from beyond the three point arc.

Chrissy Crawford led all scorers with 18 points for Marmaduke. Jamie Ricker added 11 more for the Lady Greyhounds, who hit 9-18 free throws and made two three pointers.

In junior high action, Manila used a 19-2 fourth quarter surge to pick up their first win of the year, rolling to a 51-28 victory over Gosnell Monday night.

Peyton Joiner pumped in 19 points while Jordan Robertson added 13 more to lead Manila. The Lady Lions held a 12-7 first period advantage and took a 24-16 lead into the dressing room at the half. Gosnell pulled to within 32-26 entering the final quarter.

Brittany Craine had nine points while Morgan Earnest scored four. Taylor Craig, Taylor Piercy, Shelby Wallace and Kristen Wise all had two points apiece.

Mercedes Jones poured in a game high 20 points to lead Marmaduke to a 39-24 win over Manila Thursday night at Marmaduke.

The Lady Lions were paced by Peyton Joyner who scored 12 points. Brittany Craine had three while Jordan Robertson, Shelby Wallace, and Morgan Earnest added two points apiece. Lindsey Green scored one point. Manila hit 12-18 free throws.
