Lewis N. Gooch, 75, of St. Petersburg, Fla., formerly of Cardwell, died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007, at St. Anthony's Hospital in St. Petersburg. Born in Arbyrd, he was the son of the late Harrison and Bertha Lewis Gooch and had grown up in Cardwell before moving to St. Louis, He was a retired truck driver and a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Alice O'Neill Gooch of the home; five children, Sandra Roeder, Betty Lerous, Robert Stevenson, Marian Denise and Michelle Fultz; stepchildren, Kathleen Figueredo, Thomas Crowley, Jr., Michael Crowley, Robert Crowley, Susan Whitt, Steven Crowley, Patricia Holm and Christine Crowley; a sister, Juanita Shatley; a brother, John, and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. today (Tuesday) in the Cardwell Cemetery with Rev. Jim Dement officiating. Howard Funeral Service of Leachville is in charge of arrangements. There will be no visitation. To sign the online guest register log on to www.howardfuneralservice.com.
