Gifford and Sugar place eighth in state
Scott Gifford of Manila recently placed eighth in the slow gaited competition of the Arkansas State Championship Horse Show held Labor Day weekend in Little Rock. Gifford placed first in the NECA (Northeast Central Association), making him eligible for the competition which included more than 60 top qualifying horses from across the state. Gifford's top ten finish marks his second in three years. He placed fifth in his first state horse show appearance in 2005.
Gifford followed his this year's state horseshow win with a 10th place showing in the North Arkansas-South Missouri Show of Champions held in Melbourne earlier this month. This also marks his second top ten finish in this competion as he place third in 2005.
Gifford rides Sugar, a registered spotted saddle and racking horse, owned by Miles and Meg Gifford of Manila.
