Club members held several workshops while working on the fair booth. The pass along theme was depicted with six different stations within the display. These included: Passing along seeds and plants; Passing along the art of needlework and quilting; Passing along shrubs, trees and roses (displaying a cutting from a 200 year old rose belonging to the Evelyn Lackey family); Passing along the love of the land and agriculture; Passing along food preservation and recipes/ and Passing along the family heritage in charts and keepsakes. A special brochure was provided for placement on the front entrance display board. The front display also included an invitation for people to help Arkansas 4-H celebrate their 100th birthday in 2008, and to keep passing along the merits of the organization.
This is the 30th fair booth that the club has presented during its 31-year history. They were awarded a check for $75 from the fair board for their blue ribbon winning booth.
The Monette 4-H group meets the second Friday of each month, with their next meeting being on Oct. 12, at the BIC West Elementary Library, from 3-4 p.m.
