Edla "Ma-Mae" Owens, 102, of Lake City died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007, at NEA Medical Center in Jonesboro. She was born in Athens, Ala., and lived most of her life in the Lake City area. She was a member of Lake City Methodist Church and was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Donna Dover.

She is survived by her son, William "Donald" Hayes, of Chicago; Evelyn Bowman and her husband, Jim, of Lake City; brother, Douglas Owens, of Michigan; sister, Margarette Hipshire of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Dennis Hayes, Darrel Hayes, David Hayes, Deanna Ridge and Jim Bowman Jr.; 16 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren, and three great-great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Reed officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Bobby Barker, Houston Ridge, Josh Ridge, Jim Bowman Jr., Junior Davis and Jimmy Hall.
