Lady Rebels Place Second in District Golf Tournament

Riverside Lady Rebels fired a team score of 158 to garner a 2A District runner-up finish and a trip to the Regional Tournament beginning Thursday at Melbourne.

Kailey Holt led the Lady Rebels with a nine hole score of 48 as Riverside finished eight shots behind tournament champion Armorel Wednesday afternoon at the Walnut Ridge Country Club. Morgan Emery shot a 53 while Katey Campbell came away with a score of 57.

Brittany Brooks led Armorel with a round of 44 to claim medalist honors, as the Lady Tigers finished with a winning team score of 151.

"I am very proud of the team," said Riverside Coach Greg Rainwater. "We are very young and this is still a learning process for them. These girls play five or six sports and still find a way to be successful, which is quite an accomplishment."
