Johnny "J.J." Van Jones, 50, died, Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007, at his residence. He was born in Caraway to the late Ray and Claudette Qualls Jones. He worked as a river boat captain. He was a member of the Monette Masonic Lodge 558.
Survivors include his wife, Gayla Cullum Jones, of the home.
A celebration of his life was held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Gregg Funeral Home Chapel in Monette with Rev. Jerry Reed and Chub Qualls officiating. Burial was in Monette Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Tony Hickman, Robert Harrell, Rolen Gamble, Robin Ashley, Phillip Wilcox, Bill Qualls, Jeff Qualls, David Edwards and Jim Goodman.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the Monette Masonic Lodge.
