On her last day of work a surprise luncheon was prepared in her honor. Friends and co-workers gathered at Manila City Hall to celebrate this special day with her and wish her well on the beginning of a new phase in her life.
Live entertainment consisting of music and song was presented by Mickey LittleJohn, County veterans representative, who sang several songs Barbara requested and played electric piano.
Susie Baker was in charge of presenting the cake made for the special retirement occasion.
Pierce received flowers, balloons, gifts and lots of farewell wishes from co-workers and friends on her well earned retirement.
Brenda Watson, County assessor agent, has worked with Pierce for several years at the Manila and Leachville Revenue Offices.
"Barbara will definitely be missed not only by me but by the many citizens who have come to know Barbara over the years as an employee of the Revenue Department," Watson said. "I wanted Barbara's last day of work to be a memorable and special day by celebrating with her and wishing her well on her most deserving retirement."
