Elsie Mae Grubbs, 66, of Manila died on Sunday, Aug. 19, 2007, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro after an extensive illness. Born March 24, 1941, in Manila to the late Anderson Eugene Smith and Grace Slankard Smith, she was a lifelong area resident and a member of Rosa Baptist Church in Luxora.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Billy Grubbs, of Manila; a son, Danny Grubbs and wife, Rhonda, of Caraway; a daughter, Carolyn Edge and fiance Wayne Foutch of Leachville; three grandchildren, Amanda Wilson, Douglas Edge, and Haley Grubbs; three step-grandchildren, Adam Wells, Jerra Bynum, and Zack Bynum.

Mrs. Grubbs was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Troy Wayne Grubbs, a brother, William Smith, and a sister, Wilma Brewer.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at New Vision Church of God in Manila with Rev. Brian Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Manila Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 7-9 this evening at New Vision Church of God.

Faith Funeral Service of Manila is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Carmichael, Robert Clayton, Steven Clayton, Hollis Walls, Kevin Walls, and James Brewer. Honorary pallbearers will be John Wilson, Jay Bohannan and Ronnie Rosmond.
