Monette

Larry Thomas Jeffers, 64, died Sunday, Aug. 5, 2007, at his home. He was born I Black Oak to the late Fred and Essie Jeffers and was a longtime resident of the Caraway area. He was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church and a machine specialist with American Greetings. He served in the Arkansas National Guard.

Survivors include his wife, Joann Jeffers of the home; a daughter and her husband, Vickey and Larry Browning of Manila; two sons, David Jeffers and Keith Jeffers, both of Caraway; two sisters, Geraldine Dennis of Cherokee Village and Patsy Crews of Caraway; a brother, Jimmy Jeffers of Ash Flat; and seven grandchildren, Jeremy, Brad, Amy, Krey, Rebecca, Amanda and Nikki Jo.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Gregg Funeral Home Chapel in Monette with Rev. Rick Stevens officiating. Burial was in Monette Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.

Pallbearers were Sonny Roe, Jerry Shasteen, Don Fletcher, Bill Riley, Larry Barrett and Bill Ashcraft. Honorary pallbearers were Bob Goodman, Roger Poe, Rudy Anderson, Jerry Simpson and Tony Kennedy.
