Paul Alley Carter, 92, of Cardwell, died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2007, at the Senath Nursing Center. Born in Beedeville, he was the son of the late Amos and Pearl Hayes Carter and had been a lifelong Cardwell resident. He was a farmer and member of the Antioch Church of Christ near Cardwell.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Iva Lee Burcham Carter in 2002; four brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Paul Wayne and Annette Carter of Cardwell; a granddaughter, Phyllis Rogers of Vilonia; two great-grandchildren, Nathan Hounsel and Claire Hounsel; and a great-great-grandson, Noah Cooley.
The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Howard Funeral Chapel in Leachville with David Flannery officiating. Burial was in the Cardwell Cemetery.
The family has requested anyone wishing to leave a lasting memorial consider the Paragould Children's Home or the Cardwell Cemetery Association.
