Edwards named Top Young Farmer and Rancher finalists

LITTLE ROCK -- Three families have been named as finalists in the 2007 Arkansas Farm Bureau Young Farmer & Rancher Achievement contest which awards outstanding efforts in farming operations, leadership activities and community involvement.

They are Todd and Marti Edwards of Leachville, who raise cotton; Joe and Sarah Haller of Magazine, who raise beef cattle and broilers; and Jeff and Trish Milam of Prescott, who have a cow-calf and poultry operation.

The state winner will be named at the 2007 Arkansas Farm Bureau convention Nov. 28-30 in Little Rock. Top prize is a Chevrolet 2500 Quad-Cab four-wheel-drive pickup. The winner also gets a $500 from Dodge and a trip the American Farm Bureau convention at New Orleans to compete in the national competition. Runners-up will receive $1,000.

Arkansas Farm Bureau is a nonprofit, private advocacy organization of more than 230,000 families throughout the state working to improve farm and rural life.
