Luther Edward Parks, 93, of Manila, died Friday, June 22, 207, at the Manila Nursing Center. A longtime resident of Manila, he was born Dec. 3, 1913, in Trenton, Tenn. Mr. Parks was a retired farmer and a member of the Little River Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Virginia (Norris) Parks, and sisters, Daisy Randall and Katherine Patterson.

He is survived by his children, Cecile Johnson of Danville, Frances Bowman of Searcy, Joe Parks of Boonville, Linda Foster of Vilonia, Roger Parks of Houston, Texas, Carolyn Bowman of Manila, and David Parks of Atkins; a sister, Lucille Parks McCann of Manila; and 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. William Piercy officiating. Burial was at Dogwood Cemetery.
