The Caraway Lions Club will host the 61st annual Caraway Fourth of July celebration with a carnival, parade, rodeo, food, entertainment, prizes, honoring veterans and other activities.
The Caraway celebration is a tradition drawing residents and former residents to the city.
Bernard Berry, Lions Club secretary, said the carnival will begin this year on June 30 and run through July 4.
A two-day rodeo will begin on July 3 at 7 p.m. and again at 6 p.m. on July 4.
July 4 will begin with the annual parade.
Anyone wanting to participate in the parade is welcome. Parade line up will be at Riverside East School at 8 a.m. Judging and trophies will be presented with the parade beginning at 9 a.m.
The raising of the Flag will kick off the day of activities at 10 a.m.
"As always, we will honor our veterans during our celebration," Berry said.
There will be entertainment and giveaways throughout the day at the bandstand.
Following the rodeo on July 4, drawings will be held and the grand fireworks display will start at 10 p.m.
Berry said most of the vendor spaces have been reserved. There will be a good selection of food booths, western items, tee shirt sales and others. There are only a couple of spaces left and anyone interested can contact Berry at 482-3830 or 219-3829.
