Alvin Cooper, 78, of Monette died May 31, 2007, in Jonesboro. He leaves his children, Alvin C. and Annette Cooper of Fond du Lac, Wis.; Sharon and Trenny Smith, and Eddie Wayne and Fran Cooper, all of Richmond, Vir.; Mary Sue and Any Young of Townsend, Ga.; the Rev. Michael and Courtney Cooper of Bastrop, Texas; step-daughter, Carolyn Perryman of Gosnell; brother and sister-in-law, James T. and Chris Cooper of Albuquerque, N.M.; 21 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.

A graveside memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Sandy Ridge Cemetery at Burdette with arrangements under the direction of Cobb Funeral Home.
