Manila clinched the 3A-3 conference softball championship with a 5-2 victory Tuesday afternoon at Harrisburg against the Lady Hornets.
Jonna Dodd drove in two runs while Kimberly Wise had two hits and picked up the victory on the mound as the Lady Lions improved to 19-6 overall and 13-3 in league play.
Manila swept a doubleheader from Marmaduke, winning both ends of the twin-bill by identical 10-0 scores.
Freshman righthander Kimberly Wise won both games, firing a one-hitter in the opener before coming back to pitch a three inning no-hitter in the nightcap.
Wise struck out 10 in the opener and helped herself at the plate, collecting a pair of hits while stealing three bases. Katie Donner went 2-3 and picked up a pair of stolen bases to help give Manila the win.
Wise struck out three while issuing four walks in the nightcap to improve her record to 16-4 on the year. Wise, Katie Veach, and Michele Daniel all had base hits for Manila.
The Lady Lions will enter this week's district tournament at Brookland as the number one seed and will play in the semi-finals Monday at 3:30. The Lady Lions, who have already qualified for regional tournament play at Bergman, will play in the district championship game Tuesday at 5:00 with a victory Monday.
