Dorothy Goodson, 84, of Monette, died Monday, April 16, 2007, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. She was born in Monette Aug. 23, 1922 to the late Jinks and Abbie Cornish. She was a homemaker and member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl Goodson; a son, Larry Carl Goodson and five brothers.

Survivors include three sisters, Deloris Fleetwood of Monette, Lucille McLaughlin of Black Oak and Emma Fleeman of Red Oak, Texas; a brother, Theodore Cornish of Salem, Ore.; a grandson, Les Goodson of Monette; a granddaughter, Lori Pillow of Lake City, and a great-grandson, Dylan Wright of Lake City.

A celebration of her life was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Gregg Funeral Home Chapel in Monette with Rev. Earnest Cornish and Rev. Clarence Cornish officiating. Burial was in Monette Memorial Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Chub Qualls, Scott McLaughlin, Jim Goodson, Billy Joe Walls, Donnie Cason, Shelby Cleghorn and Ted Finley.
