Bessie Miram Master, 95, of Manila, died Sunday, April 15, 2007, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born at Evening Shade, she was the daughter of the late Joel and Oma Simms Meeker, and had been a Manila area resident most of her life. She was the widow of Walter Lee Master and was a longtime member of the Bethany Baptist Church in Manila.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Vickie Master, of Manila; two daughters, Barbara Newsom and husband, W.D., of Walcott, and Carolyn Reynolds of Nashville, Tenn.; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Rev. Ferrel Duffel officiating. Burial will follow in the Manila Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Matthew Reynolds, Jefferey Reynolds, Adam Newsom, Aaron Master, Robert Master, and Danny Robbins.
Honorary pallbearers will be Joey Robbins, Kenny King, and Wesley Gordon.
The family will receive visitors from 6-8 this evening (Tuesday) at the funeral home.
