Luke McLaughlin went 3-5, scored twice and drove in a run while Ross Malloy drove in two more runs with a pair of hits and two stolen bases to lead Manila past Riverside 12-5 in the Xtra Innings Tournament Saturday morning at Paragould.
Chad Nunnally picked up the win, striking out seven in three innings of work, surrendering just one run.
Sophomore Nick Bagley led Riverside at the plate, going 3-4 with a double and a run scored. Shawn Mathews took the loss, pitching 3 1/3 innings. Mathews gave up six runs on five hits while striking out three and walking five.
Riverside also dropped a 15-0 decision to Des Arc on Saturday afternoon.
Manila played highly regarded Southside Bee Branch Friday afternoon at Westside and came away on the short end of a 13-1 score.
Manila will return to action Monday when they play host to Harrisburg in a 3A-3 conference doubleheader. The Lions will play a pair of non-conference games Tuesday and Wednesday when they travel to Armorel and Rivercrest.
Riverside travels to Weiner Monday before coming home to host Bay in a 2A-3 conference game against Bay Tuesday afternoon at Lake City. The Rebels travel to Harrisburg Thursday to face the Hornets and complete their week at Brookland with another non-conference game Friday afternoon.
