Vester E. Spencer, 71, of Lake City died Thursday, March 8, 2007, at his residence. He owned and operated Vester Spencer Trucking Company and was of the Baptist belief.
He is survived by his wife, Lou Spencer, of the home; a son, Jeff Spencer, of Lake City; four sisters, Gyneth Price of Brookland, Geraline Davies, Lucille Birdsong, and Pansy Davidson, all of Lake City; and two grandchildren, Glen Graham and Jake Spencer, both of Lake City.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilford and Clara Spencer, and a son, Randell Spencer.
The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Woods Chapel Church in Brookland with Jerry Thompson officiating. Burial was in Pine Log Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Bo James, John Milligan, Henry Butler, Marty Bunch, Larry Tilley, and Lee Dixon.
Honorary pallbearers were Boyd Davidson, Alfred Davidson, Billy Holmes, Judd Shug, Myron Davidson, W.C. Kirk, and Mike Watkins.
The family requests anyone wishing to leave a lasting memorial consider the Woods Chapel Church or Pine Log Cemetery.
