Jonesboro

Virginia "Jenny" Emily Kirkpatrick, 81, of Jonesboro died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2007, at her residence. She was born in Lead Hill and had lived in Jonesboro since 1967, moving there from New Orleans. She was a retired medical technician for St. Bernards Medical Center and was a member of Monette Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Judge Fred Martin Kirkpatrick; her parents, William and Frankie Mae Smith; three sisters, Edna Holland, Ava Kimmer and Margaret Prince and two brothers, Troy Smith and Jim Smith.

Survivors include a son, John Arthur Kirkpatrick of West Memphis; a daughter, Janilee Reed Rice of Jonesboro; three brothers, Alan Smith of Monette, Ray Smith of Lake City and J. W. Smith of Lead Hill; four grandchildren, John Martin Kirkpatrick, Jennifer Nicole Kirkpatrick, Vieona Lee Reed and Revel Lee Reed; and a great-grandchild, Neely Lee Ann Coggins.

A graveside service was held at 3 p.m. Thursday in Monette Cemetery with Jimmy Adcox officiating and Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro in charge of arrangements.

Active pallbearers were Dan Ferguson, Alan Rice, Revel Reed, John M. Kirkpatrick, Tommy Smith and Nick Coggins.
