Black Oak

Mary Josephine "Jo" Golden, 84, of Black Oak, died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2007 at St. Bernards. Born in Evening Shade on Jan. 18, 1923, she was retired from Brown Shoe Factory and a member of the Black Oak Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, O.Z. Golden; her parents, James and Eva Dunigan; four brothers, E.O. Dunigan, Buddy Dunigan, Jimmy Dunigan, J.C. Dunigan and Linuel Dunigan and one sister, Vena Dunigan.

Survivors include two sons, Larry Golden and his wife Linda of Cardwell and Benny Golden of Baghdad, Irag; five grandsons, Kevin Golden of Cardwell; Bryan Golden and his wife Lisa, Bradley Golden, Curtis Golden, Jeremy Golden all of Paragould; one granddaughter, Elica Golden of Paragould; great grandchildren, Laramie Golden of Paragould, Jacob Golden, Payton Golden both of Cardwell and Sevenjah Golden of Paragould; two sisters, Dora Dean Powell of Black Oak and Joy Self of Monette; and one brother, Edwin Dunigan of Corning and several nieces, nephews and friends.

The funeral was held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Black Oak Church of Christ with Eddie Dunigan and Tim Bassing officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Kevin Golden, Bryan Golden, Jeremy Golden, Allen Davis, Mike Cook and Chub Qualls; and as honorary pallbearers, Adult Class at Black Oak Church.
