Muntangs Sink Pirates for 74-69 Homecoming win

Garrett Qualls and Jordan Phillips combined for 40 points as Buffalo Island Central celebrated homecoming with a hard fought 74-69 victory over Gosnell Friday night at the Monette Athletic Complex.

Qualls poured in a game high 23 points, including nine in the decisive fourth quarter, while Phillips pumped in 17 as the Mustangs improved to 14-10 overall. Lance Davis and Terry Roach also hit double digits with 14 and 11 points respectively.

Trey Scott scored 21 while Ethan Bryant added 20 to lead the Pirates scoring attack. Harrison Hughes also scored in double figures with 12 points for Gosnell, who falls to 12-4 on the year.

In junior high action, BIC posted a 63-53 victory over the Pirates.
