Jonesboro

Claudis Vernon Adams, 84, of Jonesboro, died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2006, at his home. He was a farmer and was of the Baptist faith. He also loved to fish and hunt.

Mr. Adams is survived by a son, Wayne Adams, and his wife, Peggy, of Chugiak, Alaska; a daughter, Bevylee Echols and husband, Frank, of Shreveport, La.; and a sister, Kathryn Hatchell of Caraway.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ludie Jeweldeen Adams; a son, Larry Adams; parents, Cicero and Iva Dunkerson Adams; and two brothers, Robert Adams and Cicero Adams, Jr.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Windover Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Winfred Bridges officiating. Interment was in Caraway Cemetery under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.

Pallbearers were Price Marshall, Jack Tucker, Ken Luff, Kevin Tucker, Ronnie Gibson and Jeremy Tucker. Honorary pallbearers were James Redman, Bill Redman, Richard Redman, Heath Wallace and Michael Adams.
